BIOGRAPHY

Energy, creativity and compassion keep my fire burning.

I take a deep breath to sense the depths of the universe

I am flowing like wind and water.

Structures and systems keep me earthbound.

Angels, my friends, show me the way to the stars, my true homeland.

You cannot discover new oceans unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore (andré gide)

Music is my ship.

I had classic piano lessons when I was a child. A friend of mine showed me some blues chords when I was teenager. From that moment a new world opened up. I realized that I was able to create music rather than replay what others created. Whilst at university to become a teacher I went to a big music store in the heart of Zurich one day and tried all the grand pianos they had in stock. I instantly fell in love with the Bösendorfer Grand. I knew, one day, I will have my own. It took some 30 years to happen – mainly because of two reasons: I fell in love with drumming and spent most of my musical time playing around with lots of people in different bands and attending Zurich Jazz School to learn it “properly”. And the second reason was simply the lack of money for a decent instrument like a Bösendorfer.I

t was not before my friend Regula Meyer published her books about the meaning of animals for human beings when those creatures’ souls touched mine and somehow it transferred into music. Meanwhile not only animals show up, but all sorts of things that we all know yet do not understand fully: the special days in the wheel of the year, the four elements, the stars, nature, day, night…

As a teacher and school principal I see it as my main goal to inspire the people around me to express themselves through their own creativity.

I currently listen to a lot of music performed by the exceptional Cory Henry. Two of my favourite songs sum it nicely up: “People make the world go round”. Angels watching over me.” Over us all.
